happy new year!!!!...again!!

one day we dropped off lex at school and heard that some of the kids were going to to have a parade down the halls of the school for chinese new year.  so we waited and watched them go by with their dragon they made and lanterns and other things.  it was really cute.  so when i got home i started to look to see if there was anything going on in salt lake.  i found this event that was free we a couple weeks later we went as a family.  it was a lot of fun and the kids loved it.

this is the lion dancer that came out first.  it was fun to watch.  the guy in the white was teasing the lion and had it under his spell.  it came right up to lex and elaina and they laughed.  :)

at the end they said to have good luck you needed to feed the lion money.  so of course lex and elaina had to do it.  this is elaina feeding the lion.  lex was too excited to wait for dumb pictures.  elaina was scared to go up to it.  lol  cory was like..."man..we should make a lion costume and dance for ppl and then ask them for money for "good luck"".

this was the master of the center we went to.  he was showing us tai chi.  later on the fung fu guys came out and showed us some of their skills.  they were really good.  but i didn't take any pictures because lex and elaina were not behaving.  after that the master broke 2 rocks with his hands.  that was really neat to see.
