the house is so much smaller then it looks..even in this picture. the road is only one lane wide. and even standing where i was i felt like i was standing on their lawn. the driveway only has room for one car. i don't know how they fit that truck in the driveway. it was crazy! very tight space.
i thought this was funny. the owner had this on one of the trees out front. :)
this is a picture i took of the woods acrossed the street. so standing where i was the dead end was to the left and to the right was a hill going down to one of the main road's into st helens. it was kinda weird because "charlie's house" was just around the corner (maybe 1-2 blocks away) from where cory's grandma's and unclues funernals were held. it was just weird to me it was that close to somewhere i've been many times before.
here's the video i shot while i was there. i wish now i would of spent more time filming everything but i felt rushed because everyone (who wasn't interested at all) were waiting for me in the car. so it's short. :(
so after we saw charlie's house we went to get lunch. after lunch we drove back into st helens and went to old town. that's where everything else was filmed. so we first stopped at the "dress shop" in "port angeles". the dress shop is really a hair saloon. :) it wasn't open so here's a picture of me standing in front of the shop looking out at the building acrossed the street that you saw in the movie..
this is the video i shot in front of that store..
so then i decided to walk down the street some more and see if i could find anything else. and i couldn't. i knew there was more..like the bad guys coming to get her, the alley scene, edward saving her, and the resturant...but i couldn't find it. i walked down and there was a store that was open and she had this picture hanging in the window so i knew i had the right place..
so yes i broke the sabbath and i went in :P anyways... the store is called jilly's. i talked to the store owner and she was so nice. she told me about how the cast would come in and go shopping at her store when they were filming and how "edward" was such a nice guy. :) she told me that they used her dresses in her shop to use for the dress shop scene. but they moved them to the hair salon because they wanted to get the shot of the building acrossed the street. so then i asked her about the other places the filmed and she was nice enough to walk down the street and show me the ally and then point me to the other places. that was the coolest thing ever!! :) i was so thankful to her i went back the next day and bought something from her store. she also gave out a picture with every purchase of her granddaughter and her granddaughter's friend with edward. so i got one. :) it was funny because she told me her granddaughter is so embressed that she's passing out pictures of her. but the store owner told me "i just tell her that 'their not looking at you dear'". lol
here's a picture of the store owner her name is jill...
ok...so you guys have to know that at that point i've only seen the movie 2 times before my trip up there. i was so mad at myself because i couldn't remember the details of where the camera was filming from. so i didn't get right where the camera shot from...but you get the idea from the rest of these pictures.. here's one of the alley. when i got home and watched the movie again it was weird watching it!!! from the street you go down the alley and then you have to turn to your left. in the movie it leds up the path to the book store. the book store is up on the hill a couple blocks away. i never found it because i couldn't remember what it looked like. :( so here's us going up the alley to the dead end. they filmed from the dead end out towards the street.
and then this is me in the ally take video. when i turn the corner that's where the camera was filming the bad guys coming after bella.
i was so mad! i took too many videos that my camera ran out of room so i cut off while i was walking up to where the car scene was made. :( so anyways i walked about a block and a half up and there was this little street....
at the corner of the building to the left that's where edward comes screching around the corner to save bella. (he drives up this street and turns left) so i walked up and turned to the left walked a little bit and took this picture...
if i would of watched the movie more i would of kept walking and turned around to face the stairs. anyways...this is the parking lot where the guys corner bella. edward drives his car up to them and gets bella. it's a really big parking lot. then he drives bella back towards where he came from... this is a picture i took looking the right way to where edward drove his car back out...
cory's mom linda is in this picture...if she was standing there during the time of the scene edwards car would be running over her. :P he turned about right where she is standing and drove off down that little street again. he came out where this picture was takin. between the 2 cars to the left. then drove down the street. the camera was placed in the middle of the road and it shows the movie theater in this picture all light up since it was filmed at night. it's kinda funny after watching the movie again.. when their speeding off....he's not driving very fast....because the steet is only 3 blocks long. lol MAYBE 4 blocks. :) he's prob driving 15-20 miles an hour...if that! lol they had to get their lines in before the street ended. lol
so then we drove all 3 blocks all the way down the street (we walked everything else and we could of walked down there too but we were being lazy. lol) to where the filmed the resturant scene when bella and edward met up with jessica and angela. it was the last building at the end of the street. and it's not a resturant at all! i think it's a house. it's not a shop..that's for sure. they just added the christmas lights to make it look romantic. lol
this picture is in front of the "resturant". this is the street looking towards where they shot everything. if you look really close you can see the yellowish building on the left side. that's where edward came out driving bella to safety. it's not a big town. :)
so when i go back there again for another visit...i'll get more pictures. the more i watch the movie the more i know where to look for things. like the baseball field... that's up the gorge just outside of portland oregon. i could find that pretty easy. also i know where to go to where they held the prom...it's up the gorge. it was just out of the way and cory wasn't about to drive an hour away to go see it. lol. and the waterfall they show just before the baseball scene.. that's right up the gorge too. i have a picture of me there when we went on another trip to see cory's mom. but i saw that while we dove by on the freeway. they also have tours they do that are 6 hours long and they take you to like 9 filming sights...but it's $250...each :P but i loved every second of being there. that was so much fun! i can't believe i was that close and didn't know it. i'm so glad my mother in law said something. :)
if you want i found this site you can check out too...it's a blog of someone that was there while they were filming.. http://imstillwandering.blogspot.com/2008/05/twilight-set-day-two-st-helens-or-port.html
