trip to oregon!!

we decided to go visit cory's mom and her husband jim. we left on friday morning as soon as cory got home from work and drove all the way to jim's. we got there pretty late so we got the kids in bed and went to sleep ourselves. the next day we hung out at jim's. Karin (cory's sister) and her daughter kasandera came to visit while we were there. the kids had a great time playing together. the played in the back yard on the swings and they also fed the lamas.

they also found a worm and that sparked a bug hunt. lex was so funny. he had it on his arm and he started to pet it and said "nice....nice" lol. we're always asking him to be nice to our cat. so he was being so careful and nice to the worm.

this is a picture of them before they left to go home. it was so nice to see them again. we haven't seen them since lex was a baby. thanks for driving down!! :)

after they left cory was hunging out with jim and decided to shoot some guns. i asked cory to take me shooting once so he let me shoot too. so here's a picture of me and video of cory. i only got one of my targets :P and i had to aim forever. my arm wouldn't hold still :P cory got all of his. :)

after the kids had naps jim took us in the truck all around the property. after we took the drive the kids and nana (cory's mom) decided to walk all around. it was a dumb idea. the kids walked half way but once it got steep they both wanted me to carry them. it wasn't that big of deal down. but coming back up wasn't fun. it was cool to walk around in the woods a little bit. if i got too far away lex would get very concerned and would cry for me to come back. :P on the back side of the property i was trying to get to the stream. but it was fenced off. so i decided to take a picture of the kids. lex didn't want to as you can tell...

so after the "fun" hike we found jim and cory again. jim decided that he was going to build onto his building and cory was helping him put in some posts. lex loved to watch them work. and they got to sit on the trackers.

the next day we decided to go into st helens. cory always told me about how his grandpa would take him fishing when they would come to visit him and he loved being with his grandpa. jim wasn't feeling good that day so we decided to stay home. so nana, cory, the kids and i went down to the river. the kids loved it!! so here's that part of our trip..

this was supposed to be a nice family picture but the kids wouldn't hold still for anything. they had to see what was going on around them.






we went downt he beach a little bit and found a steam coming into the river. cory found this log and decided to go acrossed it. so he took lex and i took this video.

after he went acrossed i took elaina. and i made it :) nana decided to stay on the other side and watch. :)

elaina spent the whole time throwing things in. first it was sand. then it was sticks. then we found some feathers and raced them down the steam over and over again.



when we got back over the log again we walked down to the mouth of the stream and there was this ledge there. lex had a great time knocking down the sand with this stick. but once we were all sitting there he was knocking it down and the sand gave way from under him. lucky for him the sand he knocked down made a little ledge he could stand on so we had time to get to him before he fell in.

after the trip to the river we went to get something to eat and then went on a tour of st helens. cory's mom linda said something about them filming a part of the movie twilight there. so of course i had to go see it. :) but all of that i'll put on another blog. :) so after st helens we headed back to jim's and hung out for the rest of the night. elaina had a reallllly hard time going to bed every night. she usually goes to bed at 7:00pm but she didn't really go to sleep until 10:00pm so she was pretty tired. 2 of the nights we were there i had to take her for a car ride so she would go to sleep. and the day of the river and st helens trip they didn't have naps. so they were both veryyy tired. they did pretty good though for being so tired. still 2 days after being home from the trip elaina is still pretty snotty. but it was worth it :)

the last day we were there was monday. we decided for the kids sake to just hung out at jim's and get them their naps and such. so were feed the lamas, played teather-ball, and just hung out. during naps linda and i went to st helens again to go buy some things for the kids. it was nice being with her. :) after naps we hung out some more and then cory took the kids and i back to st helens to go see the dock. the kids had a good time watching the boats and throwing grass and rocks and sticks into the river. again this was supposed to be a nice picture..but of course they couldn't hold still again. :)

then cory took us to get ice cream at dairy queen. we headed back to mom's and jim's and packed up teh car because we were leaving early in the morning. it was a really nice trip. the kids were pretty good even on the way home. but i slept a lot of the way home too. :) it was great to get awaya nd see family and be with cory and the kids. :) we all had a great time. thanks everyone!! :)
