Well i've finally done it. I started this blog so that Lex and Elaina's grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins can see them grow up. Every day i think about how big they're getting and i want to make sure anyone who wants to see them grow up can. You'll have to bear with me while i figure this thing out but at least you can start seeing pictures and get updates more often. i'm so bad at calling and sending e-mails so hopefully this will get updated a lot. sometimes these posts will be short and sweet but it'll be better then nothing.

so lets start out with today. today was eventful to say the least. this morning we decided to go get donuts (thanks to the idea from curious george). so we went all in our p.j.'s and picked out our favorites. we then came back home to eat them all. while we were eating i was quizing lex on saying his alphabet. for those of you that don't know (which is prob. all of you) lex doesn't pronnouce his words very well. it's very hard to understand him and even i can't understand him a lot of the time. so he's going to be going to speech thrapy. his evaluation is feb. 27th. so we'll see how much it'll help him. so while i was quizing him we came to the letter "u" and he wouldn't say it. he just smiled and pointed to himself. it was pretty funny. so then i said.."ok...say "t"" lex-"t" me-"say "u"" and he just pointed to himself again. :)

also today we lex's and elaina's first dentist appointment. i'll spare you the details on the bad parts of the dentist office not being on top of things and just share lex's and laina's experience. once they got back there lex was very excited and climbed right up into the chair. we have been watching movies on the internet with other kids going to the dentist so he knew what to do. now elaina.... once we got tot he room her feet turned to lead and she didn't want to go any further. i had to pick her up as her body went stiff and she sat on the lap the whole time. they did an exam on lex and he did a great job. but when it came to laina's turn she wasn't very happy.

after the camera was turned off laina was trying to fight off the dentist as much as she could. she finally lost the battle and even gave in a little bit. but once they gave her her pick of either a pink or purple toothbrush she thought she was in the greatest place in the world. then they gave her a princess sticker and that's what did it. she loved it there and didn't want to leave. lex was so happy the whole time we were there. he thought it was great from the moment we walked in the door and saw the toys. (well the picture didn't ed up right here..it's at the very top. i'll have to see how to fix that later)

so after leaving the dentist office we went home and got lunch and i put the kids to bed. then while my mom watched the kids i went to get a haircut. when i got back lex was still awake. he's been in between napping and not napping lately. most days he does nap. but today he thought it would be more fun to play with his toys. which is ok with me...i'm not really ready for him to stop napping because i get a lot done while they're both asleep. but if he's happy the rest of the day...he can stop napping anytime he wants. after 2 days in a row of no naps it's gets ugly around here. he's very angry and he'll say things like... "no i'm not mom!!" i'm sure that's just something he says to me whenever he really wants to say something mean to me. or he says... "say YES!!!!" because a lot of the time i tell him he can't do something... like watch tv all day or go wake up elaina or ride his bike outside without pants on while it's snowing. or when i ask him to do something and he ignores me on purpose and he gets sent to time out for not listening he says.. "no mom!!! wait!!!" and then just yells at me and crys. then i'll hear "stopped crying!" that means i stopped crying so you can let me off of time out now. and when i don't get him off of time out he yells it louder and then starts crying again. it's kinda funny in a sad way.

alrighty...i need to get off. i've been writing this pretty much all day with a bunch of interpations inbetween. so look forward to more pictures and stories. :)
